Official Dates for Drag Week 2011

Just received my May 2011 issue of Hot Rod and on page 14 it has the dates for DRAG WEEK 2011!!!!

Sept 11-12 Topeka, Kansas Heartland Park
Sept 13 Great Bend, Kansas SRCA Drag Strip
Sept 14 Amarillo, Texas Amarillo Dragway
Sept 15 Tulsa, Oklahoma Tulsa Raceway Park
Sept 16 Topeka, Kansas Heartland Park

Now time to plan. Who's coming?

I really doubt I'll have my Rampage done ... if not
I'll be running with my buddy in his 52 ford PU again
we'll be running in DD class

I'll be there in DD with a 68 RR.Need an update on your Duster.I wont tell BTW Anyone with Topeka ?? just ask.I live here.

I am going to try to make it. Right now the car just got done getting a molly cage, and I have to pick it up. It is also in the process of getting repainted the same color. Just wanted to fix rust issues ect. Then I have to put the motor together then put the car together, get the cage certified, and get my nhra liscense. I also ordered a alterkation for it. Alot of work to do.

6 months to go.Get on it. Love the 67-69 Darts!

As the plan looks now...
Me.. Small-block 62 Valiant, ladder bars, The car should fit in Modified or Pro street, either PA with spray, or NA.
I'm not proud, show up and look for weakest/least populated class of the 4.
Brother #2 67 Belvedere 440 in DD...normally a 13.00 car, may spray to insure making the 32.
Brother #3 73 Charger 440 in DD, he has the most work to be ready.
Brother #4 66 Satellite 440 in DD...250 hit for kicks.

Was talking with my buddy today about fuel prices...
if they go stupid we will back out... but right now
we are still in

I look forward to it comeing through Tulsa, I will be there to watch for sure. I also manage an Interstate Batteries distributorship that is only 2 miles from the track if anyone happens to need anything battery related.

Update on the Duster,

Chassis will be finished May 1st. Body shop is drooling over the build and can't wait to get there hand on it. Was told they could turn it around in 10 day if I wanted it that quick. Motor is at Steve Morris Racing as we speak. I will be pushing it, but if everything goes smoothly, I will be there no matter what as long as the car is ready. Tulsa is a home track so expect me to really air her out there. If I break, I want to break in Oklahoma. If and when I make it to Topeka, on the tail end, it will be balls to the wall. Hopefully she'll give the field some problems.

Sounds like a plan.
