smallest CLR piping - 03/01/11 11:03 PM

I have some really tight spots for my turbo piping and im looking for the smallest clr 2.5" and 3" piping I can find. So far I found 3.75" clr for 2.5" pipe and 4" clr for 3" pipe. Anyone know of something better.

Thanks.

stainlessworks.net had the tightest bends i could find. call them up and tell them what you need and they can usually help you out. Also, i had the best luck using U bends where I needed the tightest of radius

Normally the smallest you can get is 1.5 times the
diameter... thats the smallest radius they can pull

stainlessworks advertises a 3.6 clr for their 2.5" pipe. Can anyone actually confirm this or do you guys think ist just 3.75?

If you need REALLY tight radius bends, search for "donuts". They are two piece stampings welded together in the shape of a complete circle.

I completely forgot about those lol

With only a 2.5 clr would it have a negative effect on flow? I will be using a 90 right off the header collector.

The donuts are neat, but $120.00 each for 304 is kind of pricey.

the donut will flow the best, but you could angle/pie cut the larger radius tube to tighten the radius.

This place has 2.5" SS for $72

That seems to be a very good price. I wonder how long it takes to special order them?
Thanks for the link.
I was looking at the pro-werks donuts.

I'll find out tomorrow when I order it. I was looking at chassis shop and they wanted $140 but theirs is 14 gauge.

i have seen a swedish supliers 3" 90degre bends bent on a 3" radius,crazy tight and 2 3/4" radius in 2½" tubing

hate to link a company that makes stuff that competes with what im doing everyday but well i cant compete with this anyway
http://www.ferrita.com/butik_kopia.php then click rörböj and some diferent pipes will show up..

if it can be made here i bet there is an american suplier that can make the same! i have seen one of those 3"bends and it was absolutely perfect in shape, cant realy say that about the stamped bends i have seen most of them are pretty deformed and hard to reshape to make them fit nice against a round piece of tubing, however im kind of picky about that stuff.

this is oddball that this company makes those bends since my experience is the same as Pbodys that tubesizex1.5=minimum radius its usualy the limit for what most tubing will be able to handle, just so much tension on the outside radius making it want to collapse or the inside radius to wrinkle since the material just wont compress more
