Thanks Dram Performance Only - 02/13/11 05:44 PM

every time i would call my step dad, the conversation would always start, Hey, I have a question. On this one perticular day, he must have been in a bad mood or something and responded with "you always have a f^%$ing question" so when Fathers day rolled around I sent him a card(which i never do for anyone for any reason) and wrote in it " if i need advise, should i ask my father or the person who acted like my father"

my Mother called to tell me that was very nice of me to do.

Well, same thing with Dan, he never fails to answer the phone even though he knows a tech question is comming his way. It has been a long time since I have spent any money with him and yet he is there to help me or someone I'm trying to help every time I need it.

If i had deep pockets I would have him building me a short block just like Deepockets just built but I just dont have it but maybe someday I will again

Thanks Again Dan

Guts kind of sappy today! Just ribbing ya....but I know what you mean, Dans answered a million of my posts over the years and he's never gotten any money from me for anything. I need to change that when I can....

Very cool story. As a stepdad myself, I can see how relationships are like a roller coaster ride.

In the past Dan and I haven't agreed much, but it seems as time goes on we actually agree more and more....nice to have him on the board for sure!!

for everyone else that posted, thanks for the kind words. i must admit, i'm feeling very humbled right now.

I felt bad the other day when Dan called me about the torque plate cause I was getting ready for work and wasn't able to talk very long, which is not usual for me, I could talk to Dan all day if given the chance.

after you told me about my nitrous jetting, next pass i almost did a hemi fred and put on top of the wall. so the challenger is retired from the track.

building a very cheap wall car. plus Cab Burge said he was going to come out here and run me over so its going in a a body so i could be light like him

must be looking for some 9 sec. passes. shouldn't be a problem in a nice light a-body.
glad i could help on the nitrous issue. too much power for you to handle once you made the change we talked about, or just take you by surprise?

my best in the challenger is a 6.12 so i'm sure the car was already in the 9s. car just took a nasty right off the line and i all i could think of was "i wonder how much a Challenger grill costs"

this car will have a ladder bar susp that was givin to me by my friend so i hope it works well. painted the car with rustoleom thanks to the longest thread ever on moparts

I have to agree about Dan always willing to help. I'm sure he got tired of me calling him and asking questions when I built my hemi. He goes above and beyond.

Re: Thanks Dram Performance Only - 02/15/11 04:27 PM

I bought my small block stroker kit from him that's in my Dart Sport. He spent some time on the phone with me a couple of times giving me a couple of assembly secrets I won't ever forget. For a guy like me that is a one man show learning as I go a little knowledge from someone that has done it before is like gold to me.

Point taken...I need to rectify the situation.

Re: Thanks Dram Performance Only - 02/15/11 09:51 PM

Is it not too late to say good things?
Anyway, I also spent some time on the phone with Dan, and when he offered the stroker crank group buy way back when, I jumped on the opportunity to give him some business. I also tried to send some other business towards him, and after enough nagging I got my buddy to order connecting rods from him, he was very pleased with the parts and the service.

I think it's a good policy to try to support the members that help and share knowledge here on the board.

thats the whole thing in a nut shell. there are plenty of good builders on here, support the ones who give their knowledge and time on a regular basis.

Re: Thanks Dram Performance Only - 02/15/11 10:51 PM

Spent a "little" money with Dan a couple months back. Can't remember how many times he called me to help sort things out!
And I,m sure he didn't get rich off the parts I bought.
