I let one slip away! - 01/23/11 03:16 AM

Got to the final today in Quick 16 at Tomato Nationals but couldn't finish the job. Ran 5.2899 on 5.29 dial It was .002mov at the stripe with my breakout of .0001, that's racin'!!
Really can't complain, 2 finals in 2 races entered coming off 2 year hiatus with the Dart!
That and I won an earlier round with a .0008mov!
Runner up purse was pretty good took home $900

oh, and for you guys shoveling snow!!

Major bummer! I can't sleep the following night when I do stuff like that. I was 7th in Pro ( ADRA - out of 39 cars )before yesterday. Went red by .002 first round. I'm sure I aint 7th anymore. I was all over the board on RT's all day??? I have days like that and I don't know why. I took my Metamucil - just like everymorning

Congrats Wayne, you are one hell of a racer.
I went to PBIR last night for the first Summit Points race but do to a huge stumble off the line and then smoking the tires in third I went home in shame

That is a nice runner-up payout. It should help lessen the feeling of loss. Congratulations on the cash winnings. I had one of those $900 R/U in 2009, and got the win in 2010 in a similar race where we split $1400 to win and $1000 R/U.

What were the RT's of both drivers?

I dont think you let one slip away, thats just darn good close racing And to make 2 finals in a row ,you should be proud. That just solidifies that your on your game and winning is only .0001 away Sorry just had to raz you a bit.

Way to go Wayne. Sounds like the racers down there have their shoe polish sharpened up pretty good.

Megadart,
First off, congrats!! I have another post on box/no box reaction times. Would you mind sharing yours from this event and the last one. Or the avg? YOU are the type of racer our new track promoter thinks I can be competitive with in a no box car!!

Re: I let one slip away! - 01/24/11 01:39 PM

thanks guys!!

yes it hurt but not all that bad! we split.
I am a firm believer what goes around comes around and ironically I won the last race the same way I lost this one, opponent breakout. Ya .0001 hurts a little but no way could I hit the brakes, we were practically tied together.

Feel like I am ready for IHRA National this week followed by IHRA div2 race the following week. Wish me luck!!

oh, and for you guys shoveling snow

cgall, that is a beautiful home, I love the corner window!
