Should I get my Indy-SRs ported? - 01/14/11 07:53 PM
I've got a 440 in my Roadrunner with Indy SR heads, 11.5:1 compression, the dual-plane Indy intake, an 850 cfm Holley DP, forged slugs, and the TTI step headers. The cam is Comp's hydraulic flat-tappet .564"/.564" XE296HL grind with 251/257 duration. The car is primarily driven on the street, and only taken to the track once or twice a year.
The heads are OOTB, with only an intake-match port (this is how they came from Indy). Without switching out cams, could I benefit from a mild port and polish or do the SRs probably flow well enough for my combo?
Thanks in advance for any input.
