You know any more on the head/ block combo? I have a customer wanting to do Big cube LSX with the tall deck world block (mohawk ,warhawk) and 11 or 12 deg. all pro heads. I just wanna do a tall deck dart block, with SB2's we can't decide though. Looks mean though.

Usually you either have a water tank in the trunk, or two small radiators on both sides in the front woth a remote pump.

The few cars that I have seen in person with SC's set up like that run smallish ones (like 15" wide) off to the side with a fan....and/or are alcohol.

420" 302 what does it have any room for a piston and rod. The block would be slam full of crank. LOL Never heard of one that big, would also be interested to hear about that.

That's a Chevy motor. Probably a 4.00 in. stroke.

The ls motor at the top is 4in stroke but prob a 9.5 deck. Somebody said he built a 420 in 8.2 deck 302. That's what I wanted to see.

Ya'll do know that the W9-RP heads and the SB2 are so similar that Chris says he even uses the same Port Program to do both.

I got to look at a Pair of SB2's about a month ago and if I had not known I wouldn't have been able to tell them apart from my W9-RP heads.

I'm looking forward to getting Chris to put my Combo together for me.

The LSX is a 3.875 Stroke x 4.155 Bore, with an F3R ProCharger.

Should make north of 2000 hp.

My 8.2 deck 420 is 3.66" stroke x 4.250 bore. I sold that engine and we might be pulling some stroke out for a class thing, kind of a bummer.

Oh and thanks for all the compliments. Much appreciated!

What block is it that will go to 4.250? I have only done a few 363's in 8.2 motors with motorsport R blocks just budget street pounders. I guess most people just go straight to the 9.5 motor and abandon the 302 base for bigger HP apps. Very cool though

At this level its basically a "race" engine, no brand loyalty other than the basic design.

I find it odd that a Wedge Head and a splayed valve head would have similar ports, Do the SB2 heads differ that greatly from the SB2.2 stuff? I know the SB2.2 & P7 stuff is very similar, which look very different to any Wedge stuff I have seen.

Re: Not a mopar..but cool!! - 01/15/11 11:19 PM

I think there has been some confusion, that I hope I haven't caused with the gentleman above that called me.

There are 2 platforms of mopar intakes we use.

There is a Mopar Wedge intake, that we use on SBChevrolet Wedge heads.

There are mopar intakes developed for the p7 heads, that we use on SB2 and symmetrical port SBChevrolet heads.

I don't recall stating that an SB2 port would fit into a W9RP...

That is not the case and if I mis spoke in a conversation I apologize.

A port is simply the result of cross section, shape, lenth, entry angle, valve angle etc... certainly, if the packaging space was available a port 'similar' to an SB2 designed port could be developed for a W8 or W9 head.... in terms of cross section and shape, but the two would not be the same. And it's unlikely a Wedge head could package a similar port to an SB2 just due to pushrod issues...

But, with enough $$ in the block, and heads maybe?? The last question would be WHY.
