I have one of those things. It's something I wish I never got into. It's so much fun but so much money.

The black one is mine, picture is from the 18th. 2006 Ski Doo Summit X 800, 151x16x2.25. ~142 horsepower is pretty fun.

My wife tried telling me I sometimes ride to fast to take pictures.I'll do most anything to prove her wrong.

Holy sheet! I've been away from sleds for a loooong time it seems. When I bought my '94 580z with mods on the speedo it would go 110, more like 102 radar. And to me that seemed fast. I don't think I'd be taking any pics at 140, whether it was on a smooth trail or lake.

Recall, cheater. Come out west to the mountains. Trail riding is boring, even at 100!

You won't be going 100 for long in lower Michigan fire trails without getting a new tree bark paint job

An F7 like the one pictured in drag race mode will run low 10's. It don't take long to get truckin, be it on snow or concrete.

Re: Off Season Toys - 12/25/10 01:42 AM

I think Fred has the right idea . Not sure my wife agrees though

Re: Off Season Toys - 12/25/10 01:44 AM

Freds toy probably costs for one night, what I paid to own mine lol. And I'd be willing to bet my rides are a lot longer lol

Re: Off Season Toys - 12/25/10 01:51 AM

Heck even my wife thought Freds toy was hot.
She also said I'm not allowed have one.
We we're on a trail the U.P when I took my picture.

Re: Off Season Toys - 12/25/10 03:45 AM

It was taken on the way back from Brok-way Mountain in copper harbor.Part of the trail was an old rail-way.This was not done in one take nor would I say it was easy.Let-a-loan very smart.lol I did think if I was able to pull it off it would be cool.

Re: Off Season Toys - 12/25/10 04:18 AM

I have a couple of sleds and I have a little home made
3 wheeler that I use for ice fishing... it was clocked
at 101 mph... good for moving around ice fishing...
also we know that the sleds MIGHT kill us BUT we KNOW
Freds toy WOULD KILL HIM...

I have been on that trail. While its fast and straight I sure as he11 would not want to jump out of the groomed section at that speed.

Re: Off Season Toys - 12/25/10 04:32 AM

I sold my 4 wheeler but it was a blast in the snow.

This is what we do. Mud drag race. All aluminum 430+ cu.chevy, 15.5comp, 15°heads, large roller. Its just as much or more fun than drag racing my car in the summer.

Re: Off Season Toys - 12/25/10 04:05 PM

Mine is a lot quieter , but frequently as expensive.
It all started with a cheap Italian switchblade.
It has gotten somewhat out of control since then.
In this shot , there are six with Damascus steel blades , one Mastodon Ivory scales , one pre-ban Ivory , a mother of pearl and of course , turquoise.
Three of them would be considered production pieces and the rest are customs.
Rough value of what is in this picture .........around 6,000.00.
And this is a SMALL part of my collection.

Re: Off Season Toys - 12/25/10 04:10 PM

My most recent purchase......a George Muller piece.
He is a maker from South Africa that I have known and admired for a few years now.
Damascus blade , dyed mastodon tooth scales and meteorite bolsters.
Yes , meteorite.
It machines like metal and when etched with acid , brings out an amazing pattern of triangles.
I have been after one of these for three years and picked it up this past fall.
It is a sickness.

Re: Off Season Toys - 12/25/10 04:15 PM

One more.
Protech TR-3.
Stainless steel body engraved by Bruce Shaw.
Blade hand ground and polished by Walter Brend....one of the legends of the game.
This is a one of one made specifically for me , so of course it simply had to get lost in the mail when it was shipped to me.
It went MIA for two weeks and I was sure it was gone for good.........can you say irreplaceable ?
But it did make it home.

Re: Off Season Toys - 12/25/10 08:04 PM

REALLY nice Strat !
I keep hitting the volume and pick up selector switch when I play them , so I am officially too clumsy to own one.
But I love the sound.

Re: Off Season Toys - 12/25/10 08:23 PM

Thanks. It's an Eric Johnson Signature Strat.

Now I just need a GOOD tube amp with the the right tone.

edit: AND somebody who knows how to play it!
