hoosiers work killer in that size range
not much burnout needed--side walls stay good--and they last! If your Hoosier letters are turning brown you are burning them too long--I used to hate the MT's--they would work great for 12 hooks then the sidewalls go limp and then they were done--Hoosiers were always my best bet--I think in larger sizes like 14x32 and up GoodYears are hard to beat but smaller--Go Hoosier I burned enough slicks to make my own fishing reef off shore

"..turning brown, you are burning them too long..." Interesting,,my thoughts exactly. I started running the Hoosiers for the first time this year. I noticed my first pass was the best 60' I would get all day. Noticed the white letters getting brown,,cut down on burn out time, seemed to help some. I am also not sure what air pressure they like the best. I have been increasing the air pressure little by little and seeing improvements in 60'. Track closed before I could get any more data. I was at 12# on 29.5X10.5WX15 and gaining. Will start out next season at 13# and go up till I see a change in the wrong direction.

Re: which slicks - 12/15/10 02:16 AM

Always ran Firestone before,,Phoneix is supposed to be the EXACT same thing. I will run the Hoosiers in the Spring and see how they do. If I am not happy after some runs in the early Spring, I will go to the Phoneix.

When comparing the same Advertised diameter slick of different manufacturers. Id want to know each of thier true diameters or circumference as that can vary by about 3/4".

If your shooting for max ET a 12" slick may be a little over kill, but for bracket racing, its fine. I love the MT,s myself. But the other brands listed are fine too. mike

Re: which slicks - 12/15/10 02:33 AM

MY home made front suspension limits my travel so unless the track is killer i unload the tires

with 29.5/15w MT's on 10 in wheel
was way better with 12 in wheels
now i want to go to 12 in tread from 11 in tread

MT's are 93 circ and the hoosers are 92 circ
