Something wrong with Mopar 426 hemi parts - 12/06/10 11:42 PM
Looking to buy some used rocker assemblies for the old 426 hemi motor and I see everybody is selling the new rocker arm assemblies that come on the crate motors. I'm talking rockers, shafts and hold-downs. Are these parts something to stay clear of for whatever reason? What's your input.

There poorly made & compared to what's availible now really not worth the money they cost. Set-ups like Jesel, T&D (Barton), etc. while expensive at first glance, offer better build quality, ease of adjustment & stay adjusted better----just my opinion.......

It really depends on the camshaft you want to use. If you are going with a hydraulic cam, or a moderate flat tappet, the Mopar OEM stuff will work just fine. Actually the factory rockers have oiling holes that some supposedly "good" aftermarket stuff do not.
But if you are thinking of going with some big lift like a solid roller, then go aftermarket. One of the best you can get is Stage-V stainless rockers.
If your stands are the factory blue anodized ones - keep them. They're fine for whatever rocker you go with. You can use the shafts too.
