nice. are those chromed stock VC's or some sort of special paint? or chrome-look powder coat or jet hot?

Re: Got the magnum in. - 11/13/10 04:58 AM
the intake and valve covers are done in a powdercoat called extreme chrome. the headers are ceramic coated black. all done by baycycles powdercoating. great work.

Re: Got the magnum in. - 11/14/10 01:00 AM
thanks. it turned out all right. got it from the junkyard all rusty. some cleaning, orange paint and powder coating make a big difference! the stock valve covers are ugly in black but look great with the coating. another thing that was done is the edelbrock intake comes with a big mounting point that sticks out. we cut it off and smoothed it out.

I forgot about them not having a mech. fuel pump.

Are you going to have your dad run it at the track next year?
Sounds good

Re: Got the magnum in. - 12/31/10 07:18 AM
Sounds good, & yes i agree with Patrick, you should have had the cam re-ground, Hope you don't put a steeper gear in it because it'll run out of steam "quick" (ask me how i know), it'll be a torque monster thats for sure, i really like the magnums, they run strong.
Another tip: Don't run too much total timing like on the LAs, they run great around 30*.
