What do you think of them (good or bad) and how fast are you running? Please say what rear suspension you are running also.

Anyone have any issues w/ them being too loose and letting the front rise too fast?

I like em and they seperate fast and slowly settle down goin down the track. My et`s are in my sig. and I run cal-tracs in the rear w/5-way ranchos.

Chip, I changed out my cheap summit 3-ways at Bristol and installed the calverts. there is no doubt the front came up quicker. the problem was my car was already off 2-3 tenths because of the elevation and they were changed overnight so day - day weather wasn't a good test either because the weather had changed so drastically. If I can't get to Darlington, I will be running a local footbrake race next month on the track that i have 100's of passes on. So I should get a good comparison.

I'm going to try a few different shocks on the front next time out and see what's going on. My problems aren't due to anything in the rear suspension.
I think the Calvert's may be letting the frontend rise too fast, bottom out too soon, and then unload the rear.
I have been completely through the rear suspension and put tires on it w/ no change.

Long story, but I never did get a good back to back test w/ the Calvert's vs. my old front shocks.

John told me last April that they would be out in the Fall of 2010 for sure. Might be worth a phone call???

I love mine. When you look at a video of my launch in slow mo, the front end makes a nice arc. Front wheels are off the ground a foot out of the beams and come back on the ground near the 60' timer. Front tires touch down and the front end settles down real soft. Only problem I have is when the car isn't lined up straight, it wants to come down in the wrong lane
I have SS springs in rear, 6 cyl torsion bars in front, 440, 727, no transbrake, no cal tracts, 3200 lb E body. 6.52/104 in 1/8th, 10.38/127 in 1/4, 1.38 60'.

Mine work great. Signature pic shows the car about a foot out of the beams and still rising.
They come back down quite controllably.
Using Rancho's as Calvert suggested on the rear usually set around 7.

You can limit the total rise, or slow up the rise with some work.
A length of 1/8" or 5/32" wire cable attaches to something substantial (under the shock tower is OK) and the control arm, but not directly.
The wire is attached to a strong coil spring (heavy wire, steep pitch) with some slack in it vs. the total "up" distance.
When the car begins to rise, it functions normally.
When the slack runs out, the nose must extend the spring so the rate slows at the last minute. The "pull" tension determines how much it slows.
Adjust the length with the usual U-clamps. I've seen dirt-track links with opposing springs in a tube and sliding adjusters, but it's a lot of work.
Can also bias rise left to right, but be careful!
