HELP???????Anyone know this car

Shipped this car from California in 2006 to England...Was told it had been a race car since 1970...When it arrived it still had the Drag Star slicks and a ticket from the California fire dept on the fire exstinguiser ,saying it had passed a test in 1984..,,,,,Has Smittys Autos Torrence Calif painted on the front wings,,,,,Almost given up hope of finding any history on it .....so come on guys someone must know this car...Came with 440,727,Old gate shifter......Its since been rebuilt and mashes up the track agian

Thanks for that,,,Ran 12sec 121mph ,on a couple of shake down passes .Should run 9s with some tuning.Problem is a crew on a A fuel car in England and that takes me across europe,, and sucks my time .So the car has become a piece of garage art.... Engine is 440 block stroked to 493...Indy sr650 heads with max wedge stage 2 port job by Indy...Roller cam and the usual line of suspects to get it down the track...
