My Valiant...updates - 10/10/10 08:03 PM

Here is the current state. I 2X3 4-linked and pretty much gutted the car to the outer shell from top to bottom. Drew up my cage floor to scale, bought the 4130 and pondered buying a bender. In the mean time working with others on their much-closer-to-run/fun projects. Probably due to the fact I am too proud to let someone else do the work, it has sat in this state for a while. I even considered selling it. This summer I contracted Joe Green of TopGun Motorsports to tube and tin. Joe was an understudy of the late Steve Grebeck. His fab skills far exceed mine. He has built some popular high-end drag cars but, somehow the guy gets little credit. Here are some pics...

This one (to me anyway) shows how well Joe fits the cage to the car. I am proud to have Joe take over this project as he really doesn't solicit side jobs any longer. Joe fabs pretty quick given the free-time from his 9-5 job(really more like 5am-9pm). And he thinks it'll be done with tin in another month...if I don't keep adding to the list.

I don't miss seeing mine in that state of completion.

It will all be worth it, when your making banzai passes
at Norwalk in 50� air. Looking good. What's going in it?

For now a hardcore 'B'!!! Actually more softcore considering what is out now. 485" cnc'd -1 INDY's, Jesel, T&D, 1960 bob wt. Crower crank, low CR set-up for pump gas... all in a $2,500. production block.

I have been gathering P7 stuff and BondoBob had a line on another R5P7.

Thank you! The car is 'heads-up legal' with production front framerails and MF bolt-in front end.

Sean Progress is nice huh

Glad to see you moving forward. As for the engine selection I say stay with a B motor, mine does ok for a little ole low deck motor.

Lookin' good! I agree with Bob, we need to get Nicks car out and get the shop cleaned up and ready to get yours finished up. I also agree with Bob about the 4 link in Nicks car.....

Well I just flushed a long explaination of why I haven't been on here down the cyberspace toilet bacause the pic attachment was too large.

Sean, I think it was a good move having Joe finish the bars and tin. He really did a fabulous job! Now we have to get Nicks car finished up and out of the way so we can get moving on the Valiant. Randy, I'm really thinkin' that we can have it out next year. He has most of the major components, only lacking time and space!
