Just curious Jim, looking back now, do you ever have any regrets taking the car to where it is now? I know LOTS of guys, that when they remember how they started wish they could have it back the way it was BEFORE the extensive mods.

The only thing I regret is it won't fit into the typical 8.50 class due to the round tube chassis. I don't regret anything I have learned from this 20+ year adventure. If I was to start over I would do things differently, but isn't that what hot rodding is all about?

Finally decided to get serious about weight and aerodynamics. 1979
Chopped the top 6 inches and made my own fiberglass doors. Also had cage installed getting ready for a 426 Maxwedge Super Stck motor. Running low elevens.

Yeah, I never had the kinda $$$ to do a car like that, but a few years back at old MAR, we were settin around the fire after racing, several of us, just remembering back 10-12 years earlier when most of us were running mid 12's or so and several said they liked going fast but definately had more fun at the beginning, mostly cuz it was cheaper to operate, or less breakage, or miss driving to the track etc. Just cuious where you fell on it. Its been fun on this end watching your car and others evolve though.

Charger was my favorite car and have regrets selling it to a guy in Australia but I wanted to go quicker and didn't want to hack up an R/T with numbers matching. The Duster, well..... It was nice when I sold it.

This is by far my favorite pic so far. That had to be a long time ago judging by the lack of barriers between the car and the crowd. But if it was THAT long ago and you were running 9.20's..........

Well, I am only 23, so my "old" pictures of my car aren't really that old...
2004 or 2005...
340 small block, and what i like to call mid 70's refrigerator white paint....
and most recent...
and, as you can see, it is an on going project, hence the Jeep Cherokee wheels on the back. This winter's plan, build a Dana and put the correct rear wheels on. LOL

My Cuda 1983 or 84 leaving to go to Atco towing with my 66 Sattelite Conv. it had a 68 440 out of a GTX and a 4 speed and power windows. The conv. would go mid 13's at about 101 mph. Note the Cuda is now tubbed. Cuda was going 11.60's with a hydraulic cam and a vac. 780 but it would go 117-118 mph.

Thank you for the compliment. Unfortunately the engine is out of the car with #5&6 rod bearings spun and not enough $'s to fix it right now. I was hoping to make it with the Duster my father and I have but that's not quite ready to go either. I may be there to spectate if my friend with his 413 powered 31 Ford coupe decide's to go.
If I make it I'll try to stop by and say Hi and check out your car. I assume you'll be there with the Cuda in the pic.

Same car, different paint job. Yellow as it was bought from Tom Cunningham, Chuckers brother in 1975!!! Had two front ends, one steel and one aluminum. The car was recently found last year. The pics were very disturbing. Looked as it had sat outside for many years, no front end.

My 68 Coronet that i bought in 89, and painted in 91. This pic was taken just after it was painted. I parked the coronet in 04 when i bought the 63 I race now, I have been working on the Coronet and hope to get it done soon.

Here is mine. My dad traded two 15x10 centerline autodrags for this car to a junkyard where he got it from in 84 I think

My first Dodge Dart. I got it from my grandma when I was 16 back in '78. She bought it new from Grand Spaulding Dodge. She lived on Spaulding in a three flat my grandpa left to her.

No old pics of mine here either since ill be 25 tomorrow and have had the car since 04. mine looks the same except wheels and intrior change. but i do have old time slips from when i bought it and went to trails and won. went 16.60's that was slower than my 3.5 intrepid i had that ran 16.0's.

The good 'ol days. Drug this HEAP home winter of '94 from a dairy farm. Dropped in a STOCK 440, milled some 906 heads, used a Purple .484 stick, an old swap meet torker, an even older 750 DP...a manual VB in an otherwise stock 727, a OEM 11" converter and 3.91's. Then splurged on $200 worth of a paint job and some new wheels/slicks! Had about $3000 in it and had $100,000 worth of FUN!
Best of 11.64 @ 115 in mineshaft air. Typically 11.70-.80's. Always on 91 octane pump gas.

This is one I REALLY regret selling: Went a best of 11.09 @ 119 with a 383 and 10.38 @ 128 with a 906 headed, TRW piston 440. DEADLY consistant, just needed a good driver...LOL!

This picture isn't too old, but the Cuda was owned by Dave Schmitz and my Dad's very good friend, Gary Sutton who raced the car for years. I have some memories of this car in "Uncle Gary's" garage. They'd fire up the Hemi (later to be a 440 car) and I'd run my 5 year old butt in the house.
Gary won the 1992 Winter Nationals in the B/SA class after many years of racing the car. More recently the 70 Cuda was in Modesto with Dave Schmitz for a while, and I believe it is now over seas in Northern Europe.

WOW....very cool thread and some very cool cars....I also love the old school memories, here's a few of mine:
First would be a non-mopar 64 furd falcon with a 69 boss 302 4-speed drivetrain swapped from an insurance total purchase of $300 can you belive that ....
Ran at NED when it was NHRA, I'm sure some remember
Second would be a 72 Challenger bracket 340 that ran at both NED & Bradenton, this is another one that I built from the ground up....wish I still had it, but don't we all
Third my old baby and still jonesing for another runner:
Fourth a mild 440 8.50 150mph altered that was a blast and a huge step up from the 11's
and 20 years later the supergas corvette and all the electronics I never ran before which was a huge learning curve and a blast...
Now to the street build 64 valiant 408 stroker 4-speed.....in progress:

Somewhere in a box of pictures, I have a shot of that car from Fremont circa 79-80, with the Hemi in A/SA, plain black paint with a white interior. Had "Schmitz and Sutton" lettered on the door with "rainbow tape" letters!

Not mine at the time but this was the first real full time race car I was ever around. I later owned the car as a daily driver with a 440 but with all the max wedge stuff still in place.
