Recommend a Hemi builder in the Southwest?? - 09/17/10 01:20 AM

OK, I know a few good builders on the east coast but I want to find a Quality shop within a 5 hours drive of Phoenix, AZ to build up an aluminum 605ci carburated street/strip Hemi.

Anyone have a trusted shop?? If you could please respond with a contact name/number and if you had any personal experience with them.

Thanks in advance.

How about Judy Lilly's ex-husband in Tempe? We had him do a 440 for us and it runs sweet!

Bob Mazzolini Racing. He has a SS/AH car and has built ALOT of HEMIs. He just finished a 604" Stage V HEMI for a customer. World Iron block, Callies Magnum XL 4.75 stroke crank, Carrillo H-beam rods and CP custom pistons using Stage V engineering heads. Nice piece! 951-787-8783.

Didn't Eric at CFO work on Mark Vierra's SS/AH engine?

Anyone have any experience with Ricky Watters Race engines www.rwrengines.com or Speed O motive www.speedomotive.com I spoke with both shops in the last few days but I'm still undecided.

I had forgotten about Dennis Maurer, his shop is walking distance from mine but I ran into him years ago at his shop looking for headers and he was clearly a busy man with no time for a naive smart ass such as me. I may try to go over there and see if he can build what I'm looking for.

I have heard some good things about Dennis. Let us know what you decide. My neighbor works on top alky team and I will probably have him help me out when the time comes.

With all the money your going to have in this engine, why let a thing like milage be a factor.
Where is Rich Nebal...
He was a part of Mopar engines West, has a new Hemi book out, and seems like a nice guy..
Think his user name is Mopar Rich

Call Erik Jones at 661 942 3364 at least talk to him before you make up your mind. He does my engines and Jerry Jenkins stuff also.

Opinions are hit or miss on speedomotive.
There is NO way I'd hand over hemi parts unless the rep was all good.

For the money & time you're going to have involved, call Ray Barton. you'll wind up talking to him or his son, Dave directly & they can give you the straight scoop on the pros-'n-cons of various combos...........

Tim Banning at FHO[For Hemis Only] would be your best bet in my opinion. Unlike some of the other guys mentioned he will stand by his work. He is a super nice guy and always has time to talk about your projet even if you are just shopping around. Give him a call and talk to him a bit I bet you will be glad you did!
