Turbo Slant 6 to the Track - 09/05/10 11:44 PM
I was able to make 3 passes before being asked to not make any more passes. Next accessory is a cage.
Weather was great except for the 15mph head wind plus gusts. The car was a handful on the big end.
Boost was at 22psi, MT ET Streets Radials 255/60/15
Best launch was foot braked @ 8psi. I still have a high speed miss that did not go away with plugs, cap rotor, so I shifted at 5000rpm.
Temp 64*F
Humidity 46%
Pressure 30.01
DA=1367
Best ET = 11.02
Best MPH =121.84
Pass 1
60' 1.686
1/8 et = 7.30
1/8 mph = 96.17
1/4 et = 11.30
1/4 mph = 119.57
Pass 2
60' 1.572
1/8 et = 7.06
1/8 mph = 97.50
1/4 et = 11.02
1/4 mph = 120.56
Pass 3
60' 1.596
1/8 et = 7.18
1/8 mph = 97.29
1/4 et = 11.12
1/4 mph = 121.84

very well done. Now you need to change your sig. My track would have booted me after the second pass.

Nice job! Great times, considering you short shifted it. Fairly consistent, too! You can embarrass many V-8's. Do you have video of one of the passes? I'd like to hear what a slanty sounds like under boost!
All you need is a 6 point roll bar. A cage is required if you're going faster than 9.99 in the 1/4.

DusterDave,
My sig has the 11.02 pass but here is the dyno pass that was stopped short because of dyno issues.
Miss is fixed too...I ditched the points and put in an electronic distributor.

I'm embarrassed that my roots 340 has only gone
11.01@124. Maybe I ought to scrap the blower and replace it with a turbo. (though it does weigh 3875)

That has to have a few people scratching their heads when they see your slant run them #'s.
How much is the race weight with driver?
What turbo you have on the car now?

Great passes.
What are you gapping your plugs at. I found no matter how good an ignition system I've run the gap has to come down to 25-28 thou once the boost is up there or hi boost hi rpm miss will be there.
