Couple of years back popped my "good" motor and had just sold my last complete forge crank motor. Grabbed a old standard bore block that was out behind the shed, it was all muddy and rusty. cleaned it up ,slammed in a set of old 69 magnum piston that were in a box in the corner. cast crank stock rods and all. rumaged thru a bunch of cams that a buddy had and found a .528 in there. used a set of 906,s i had hand ported 15 years before. i bought a new set of rings and reused bearings and head gaskets from the other engine. would have been happy if it ran 8.0 7.99. the race motor had gone 6.40. i couldn,t believe it, went 7.05 off the trailer!kinda made me wonder why i spend all the money on these "good" motors. that motor raced all that summer and is still my backup motor. good luck with it might surprise you.
