I did get a chance to slide by Mike's shop today and he was finishing up cutting the seats on the J-Heads for the valiant

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.

We're using the old stainless valve...Mike wanted to go with new, but I can't really see spending the $$$$$ in a mild 318/390 stroker - what do you guys think

Need to unload the roadster bullet, so I can get boogieing on this project

Can't you just machine the ridge from the underneath the edge of the intake valves off to enhance low lift flow? Seems like that shouldn't cost a lot.

Some bowl work and back-cut the valves and they will flow a whole lot better.

Got these heads for free and have a whopping $300 in them to date....might touch-up the bowls some, most of the previous work was done in the runners, as far as machining we're done (budget)

Looking at Scat for the rotating assembly with flat top forged pistons.....need to find shafts and rockers if anyone has a used set they are looking to part with

What kind of rocker gear you looking for?

Rick is that Mike Thompson thats doing the heads??? if so hes one of the best.. as for rockers I'm giving Jimmy a set of 340 heads that has a set on them .. if he doesn't want the rocker gear there yours...

Mike has been doing quite a few Mopars lately saw a couple of real nice BB's he did when I was down there last month....Mike sure does build some power

He doesn't get real excited about this build though

It`s always exciting to get some new stuff ready for assembly.

Not to pee on your parade but it looks like the cutters/stones left some chatter marks on the ex. seats unless I`m seeing something different.

Yeah I thought the same thing, although I was standing there when he cut and tested them no chatter from the machine and they sealed up great when tested

Had it out to the track....supposed to get the tubs welded up this week and then paint....it's been too damn hot to get too motivated
