There was never any plan to do an aluminum XR block

Ernie Elliot released an aluminum copy of an R5 for Late Model use, nice piece, but big $

Rick was long on talk and short on truth in my dealings with him.
"if" he was making them and was giving them away with free rotating assemblies , I'd still be very cautious.

There was talk about an aluminum XR block. In the post I found, Rick never
acutally "said" there would be one and never corrected anybody for expecting
one. I'm for certain he said there might be an aluminum version but, you can
only search back, so far now.

There were also solid aluminum SB Mopar blocks. I don't know how many were
made or who made them but, a friend of mine, got them from Fowler Engines in
Columbus, OH. Kent Ritter bought them(2) for a guy building a Jr. Fueler.

Are the Iron XR blocks available yet???

The Elliot block is not really that pricey. I priced one at $5,000. As far as alluminum blocks go that are ready machined that is not bad. I think 9.200" was as tall as you could get and I wanted taller.

Donnavan that makes the alluminum 392 hemi blocks should be able to make a solid alluminum block as it would be some minor changes. I talked to him at PRI about it. He said he could do it for an extra fee.

There would be an Elliot block in my garage now if I had the extra funds to buy it. I desperately want to run a power adder again. I would also like a taller deck for more stroke and rod ratio. Couple Pro mod turbos and we would see what happens.

They are but, it seems they make them as they are ordered.
We have been waiting for one since March.

Good luck with that. Been wanting one for a long time. For the price, if they ever do become available, I will probably stick with my Hemis. Went down that road, and really no reason to come back.

An all alum 3G hemi would be the best of both worlds and I hear there is one in development.
