Anyone do the in car camera thing ? Looking to build a mount for a vid cam and mount it to the cage . Any pics would be very welcome .

how big,what type of camera are you mounting? my little Kodak 613 just has a 1" wide .090 thick 3" long aluminum hose clamped to the cage next to my head.a 1/4 20 bolt hold it on the strap.

It`s a 3 year old Sony HD , not really big at all.
I was planning on using some u-bolts to hold the base to the cage , then running a 1/4 -20 bolt through to attach the cam . Maybe some foam insulation on the aluminum pad so it doesn`t scratch.

If it is a CMOS technology camera, forget it. The video will be all wavy as heck and unwatchable.

But, even better than a car mounted camera would be a helmet mounted one. I use one and it is way more fun to watch. With the helmet camera people can watch you do top end racing.
