Band Adjustment question with Tranzact Valve body. - 06/12/10 02:32 PM

Do you adjust the bands for this valve body the same as any other valve body. Or does it need to be different?

from their website:

http://www.gotranzact.com/tranzact%20instructions%20pro%20brake.pdf

Intermediate band Adjustment; flex or hard
back, tighten to 75 inch lbs. then back off
1 3/4 turns on new band or 2 turns on used
band.

Rear band; tighten to 75 inch lbs. then back off 1 1/2 turns on new band or 1 3/4 turns on used

are the adjustment's the same for a 904 with a triple wrap reverse band, those sound like 727 adjustment's.

Doesn't the kickdown lever ratio influence the adjustment specs?

The internal lever: 5.0, 4.2, 3.8, etc.?
OEM specs seem to call for different back-off numbers based on ratio. I've been using 4.2 and stuck close to the "race" torqueflite adjustments. There's no telling what ratio you'll find when rebuilding an OEM core.
