How do you guys have your Kirkey Race seats mounted? - 06/12/10 02:58 AM

My wifes 69 Dart will be driven by both of us and the Kirkey Race seats need to be adjustable. Has anyone made this work? I plan on having an adjustable seat back brace as well. I would like to see some photos if anyone has any.

Don't have any photos but i was going to make my seats adjustable. They were kirky high back aluminium, when i put them on summits adjustable seat mounts the seat backs were too high for my liking. So i bolted mine right to the floor system using kirkys brackets. It should be no problem with a kirky standad seat & kirky brackets to the summit adjustable brackets. hope that helps.

The seat sits on an adjustable bracket as well. I'm not sure what brand it is, but I do know that both seat rails are locked in position until you release the lever to adjust it There are less expensive ones that only one rail locks. I think at 9.99 you need the double locking type

Nice Work! I would like to see your seat track and how he made that work. I think if I made the seat fixed for me, my wife might be a little upset at me when she sat down and couldnt reach the pedals in HER car! On the flip side, if it was fixed for her, I dont like driving with the steering wheel in my chest.

I think he used a adjustable seat bracket like this one http://www.summitracing.com/parts/JZP-450-011-03/?rtype=10 and fabricated some aluminum brackets that bolted to the jaz seat bracket, and then the seat is fastened to the fabricated aluminum brackets with zoos fasteners, really a neat deal, you should give Rob a call, I,m sure he could help you out. http://www.rjfabrication.com/678.html 760 244-7410

Hate to follow formula S, nice work

Mine is non-adjustable. Here's a few pics.

Driver side high mount and mid mount.

Floor mount, driver side

Pass side is similar but no "cage" to capture the seat belt, one bolt on the cross bar and no head support.

Get this:

bolt it to this:

Seat back support

That's how I've done it. Works out well.
