Drag shocks?

Drag shocks? - 05/31/10 04:27 AM

After doing some mods on the darts rear suspention, i'm thinking "shocks" on all 4, now i'm looking at the CEs adj. drag shocks, are the rears any good? Right now i'm running some Monroe truck gas-matics with alot of extention (more then enough), but i realize the other important part is "controlling" the seperation & still hook up, i'm sure i'll go with the CEs for the fronts, i've thought about Calverts drag shocks, this is only a mid 12 second car with a mild 360, 60fts. are between 1.80-1.82, best of a 1.79.

So, should i invest in rear shocks like the CEs, or keep the Monroes or maybe Ranchos? Remember i'm not "rockafella", so don't shoot me some 500.00 double adjustables lol, this is only a 12 second car.

I'm not getting caltracs, just can't afford it, my main concern was the CE shocks, i did find a member with a set of Rancho 9000s for a decent price.

Rear shocks are fine. Don't waste your money. I'll let you know how much my 12 second car picks up from the swap over to calvert 90/10's on Saturday. Thats assuming it doesn't rain like it has been the past few weeks.

i had CE's on the back but now i have Strange. the Strange leave the CE's for dead. for the extra coin spend it on something better than the CE's, your ET will love it.

I wouldnt use the CE on either end... for the buck the
Calvert fronts are nice... granted they arent adjustable
but should work well on your car... for the rears the
Ranchos would be the MINIMUM and you might be right
near the max setting.... your catching on in the aspect
that you need to CONTROL the separation... all cars
dont do the same thing so you need some adjustablity
(more torque needs more)... this would be about the
cheapest way to get SOME control...JMO

I have the MP long extension drag shock out back and CE 90/10's up front. They are affordable and the car 60 foots in the mid 1.60's and hikes the left front on every pass, only running 12.00's.

Joe, I have treid the QA1, Koni SPA and the CE on the front, the Koni SPA work best for me. Summit carrys them and there reasonable, not as cheap as the CE but they work good Better than the more expensive QA1 Believe it or not I'm thinking of putting a set of stock HD Monroe on the front to slow the reaction times down so I can leave sooner at the track, we will see

Because of funds, i think i'll go with the CEs on the front, just wondering if i should invest in the Rancho 9000s for the back?
