some new best at local1/8 mile test/tune

i drive the truck to the track which is about 35 minutes .i got a new best 60ft of 1.63, before this best was 1.69 and a e.t. of 7.53, best ever et before was a 7.55 et at out local 1/8mile track,vehicle is 3360#,street /strip, 88 dakota 9.3.1comp, 318 all stock bottom end with ported 302 casting heads and comp .454 lift cam ,edelbrock performer intake holley 650 db pumper.727 trans with 3500 stall ptc converter,3.91 8 3/4 rear,tires are m/t street radials 295/65-15.i run a clean nitrous tune-up of 175 hp on this motor.i drive it to the track pull timing back to 24* and spray it,tire pressure was at 27 psi,its my 1st time on this big of a tire so i left the air pressure high,i will play with tire psi next time out.it really hooked hard and surprised me on that run. i cant wait until the 418 small block stroker is done.

Mike, drop the tire presure to 18lbs, them tires hook... try to find some 15x3.5 rims for the front. Glad to hear about the new best.....Phill

yes i will try lower tire pressure next time out.phil front rims are 15x5 now,was afraid to go any narrower,there is alot of weight on the front,potholes are bad around here.mike

thanks,it runs 8.9-9.0@76mph on motor in the 1/8,jets are.071n/.063 fuel.timing pulled back to 24*total,plug gap set at .030.i got the tune-up from monte smith.
