First race of the Year Results WTTTF - 05/23/10 11:55 PM
We had our season opener yesterday here at Desert Thunder Raceway. We had to replace the head gaskets in the car this week after doing a leakdown. Any how our first pass in qualifying resulted in a 5.30@ 137.87 and a 1.31 sixty foot. Second qual. we added 5# of fuel pressure across the board and went 5.25@138.79 with another 1.31 sixty foot. We were #1 qualifier and went on to win the event. Our first two elimination rounds did not go great as we were trying different stuff but were able to win each round. In the finals we went back to the 5.25 tuneup and ran a 5.28@138.19. Car weighed in at 3307#.The converter will be changed out this week. It was way to tight for the motor. After the shift we only gained another 100 rpm's. We did make 34# of boost at 8800 rpm's. We will raise the shift point up to 9200 our next outing. With the data we have and a new converter a 4.90 is well in reach.
