valve body recognition

I bought a trans with a valve body, that had been modified to use as a trans brake, the case had been drilled and the solenoid was external.
Can anyone give me an idea what make it is.

Looks a bit like the Griner I have in mine (no TB though) Could be wrong though

I think if you used a trans brake, you'd flip over backwards.
Do Griner have a website, i'd like to cross reference the number.

It's not a Griner...I'm sure of that. I can do some checking tomorrow and maybe find out who's it is. An external solenoid you say? Griner does not have a website.

It was a very unusual set up, homemade rod from the valve body into the external solenoid mounted to the modified casing.

It does look like the Griner I istalled last year in my buddys tranny.
But it should be marked with the Griner name on the side.

Talk to "727specialist" he might know.

It is an external solenoid style. TranzAct makes 2 models, one with external solenoid, one with internal solenoid. The internal solenoid, P/N 121900 or 121901, (Safety Neutral).

The bracket race transbrake is similar to your TCI unit with the external solenoid that screws into the hole where the neutral safety switch was installed.

Thank you W2, yes, the solenoid fits where the neutral safety goes but the number is different, Is it reverse pattern.
