CAB wins! And my dart went straight. - 04/18/10 06:05 PM

Cab wins the first race of the season at Madras dragstrip. I don't know why but the first race of the seasons at madras is always ran on a pro tree. They don't even give you a pro tree during practice but during eliminations it goes to a pro tree. It was broken down into two classes 5 tenth pro and 4 tenth pro. Me and cab both chose the 4 tenth class. I won my first round but red lite in the second round ran it out anyway to see what it would run. I dialed a 6.34 and ran a 6.343. Didn't really care though as the car is once again predictable on the starting line. Now if I can only get this death shake out of it when I hit the brakes trying to slow it down.

Congrats to all and good running car!
But I would definitely tear into ALL of the front suspension, and get it realigned with extra +caster and the rotors checked for good measure.

BTW, not so lucky today

I'm really glad the chassis work and front end alignment work for you

Now to figure out exactly where the pulsating vibration from the brakes is coming from

Jacked it up yesterday and put a dial indicator on both rotors. Left rotor had .005 run out Right rotor had .014 and was all over the place. This is a wilwood kit with non-vented rotors. May have to use the vented units?

Had that problem when we first put the Wilwoods on the front. They warped like crazy first time out. The kit came with solid rotors they called 5/16 but they actually measured .300. After much "persuasion" they were convinced to send me 3/8" inch rotors (which actually measured .355) and a template so I could drill them myself.

After about 1000 passes they're still OK.

BTW, .014 is WAY too much.

Allen, you could try havig them turned one time to straighten them out and see how long they hold up this time If they warp again right away then switch to the thicker ones
