Bronze Oil Pump Gear And Shaft.... - 04/14/10 11:58 AM

Took today off work so I could get a bunch of parts ordered....Among those is the bronze gear and shaft...Looks like the choice is MP,Milodon or 440 Source....Also have to order a good 3 bolt timing chain for the roller....Any suggestions,guys?? Thanks!! Ted

for the timing chain i have a cloyes with 3 keyway.how much adjusting do you think you will do on the cam?

When I could not afford a gear drive. I went with a timing chain from Indy it does look like a nice timing chain.

RollMaster and Cloyes are both pretty good choices. A dual idler set-up works good too and the price has come down a lot. Less than a $100.

A 509 purple shaft does not require a bronze gear

Ted,
some use the bearing type other's the alum button , I've used both, you have to mock up your front cover and water pump housing together to see what clearance you have with either. I think they are the same as the big block chebby.

that's the one for a Milodon pump. they're finally back in Mopar warehouse stock again, along with the 875 "normal" length one.

I guess I'll stop with the purple shaft comments
