no those are the inner flanges for the econo heads with the narrower bolt pattern..

W2 narrow heads (cc 4 in.). D-port.

Still have the D port shape which is a W2 exhaust port.

Re: W2 to standard A header adapters... - 04/12/10 06:51 PM

My heads are the Brodix heads with the stock 4" cc bolt pattern, I need to go from the stock to the W2/W5 header pattern so I need to make an adapter to go from narrow cc to the wide cc.

The Brodix head uses the D port just like the W2 exhaust.

My Headmans came with adapter plates for W-2 to 4 bolt header flange. I believe I still have one if you need it. If it's the right one at least you would have a template. My headers are 2" A-Body Headmans that have 1 tube thru the inner fender.

Re: W2 to standard A header adapters... - 04/13/10 12:06 AM

Well 70aar...

I made some adapters out of aluminum, and I could make a set for ya out of either aluminum or steel. Just get me a paper, or cardboard template of both header flanges. Its a lot of work, and I know they were made for my head set up otherwise Ill just make my own if I cant get a hold of a set.

My 2" are on standard heads. Made the plates out of 5/16" steel. Traced both sets of gaskets for hole locations and milled the exhaust port holes. Drilled and tapped the header holes. Mounted the plates to the heads with tapered 45 degree allen head bolts. Been on the car 20 years.

Basically those to get a set of W5 headers to mate up. I dont have the huge 4 bolt per port headers, I just have the standard heads to the W2 wide flange just like the other guy did in this thread withhis Brodix heads.

Re: W2 to standard A header adapters... - 04/13/10 09:38 PM

if you have the headers with the flange welded on them already but no adaptor just drill and tap the head with the pattern of the flange that is on the header I don't have any more pics of the adaptors but here is the whole header

Re: W2 to standard A header adapters... - 04/13/10 09:43 PM

there isne enough meat on the head, and I dont think the flange wide enough to drill where I need it. I could plug weld the holes and just re drill them though.

Nice header work by the way what are they in?

my engine is a old i.r.o.c. series deal its going into a warlock truck I never thought I would find a need for another set of the adators or I would have made prints out of curiosity did you ever try making a rubbing on paper of the w5 flange to see how close it lines up to the brodix stuff
