Piston out of the hole .022 - 04/05/10 03:33 AM

Wondering what your thoughts are on the following scenario.

Piston .022 out of the hole, with .290 from the crown of the piston to the top ring.

Ive already got some .062 Cometics so that should work out nicely.

Just wondering if that is too far out of the hole?

KB says it will be fine, but....

Run my small block with .020 out of the hole and .060 cometics. Not issues at 12.8:1

BS heads, and about 12.7 comp. Using a dish to keep the compression reasonable.

Mock that rascal up with some clay around the valve reliefs, set the heads on with bolts and head gasksets, set the valve lash and check it out, your probally golden but it doesn't hurt to check
