Pittsburgh Raceway Park Opening Day!!! - 04/01/10 04:25 PM
Pittsburgh Raceway Park's Opening Day will be this Saturday, April 3. We will kick off the 2010 Season with Test n Tune with an Auto Parts Flea Market & Swap Meet. Our gates will open at 7:00am for vendors, 8:00am for everyone else.TnT starts at 11 am. Given the great forecast for Saturday, track manager Greg Miller has extended the hours, so racing will go until 7pm. That is 8 full hours of track time! Spectators and Crew Members will get in FREE from 8:00am to 9:00am for the Swap Meet, after 9:00am spectator admission will be charged for Test N Tune at just $7 adults, or a carload for $25. Kids 10 & Under are FREE.
Also, please excuse our mess while visiting during the first few weeks of the season, as mother nature messed up our construction plans with all of that snow, and prevented us from finishing everything we wanted to get done, but we will forgive her for that, as long as she lets our racing season alone!

I haven't raced there since 1985 when I moved to Florida after high-school. I do check your web-site often, it's cool to see some of the same cars still racing from back in the day. Hope you guys have a great opening day and a safe, successful season.

There is also a memorial day weekend race.
Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Cost is $250 for the weekend. It will be a box/nobox race.
Payouts:
Friday $1000 to win (don't know format of this)
Saturday $2500 to win (for each class)
Sunday $5000 to win (for each class)
Monday $2500 to win (for each class)
There will be seperate entry fees for each day but I do not know what they are.
Pay $250 pays for the Saturday , Sunday and Monday, and if paid on Friday in Full; your entry into the Friday race is free.
No flyer up on the site yet, but this was announced at the drivers meeting this past Sunday.
It's a good deal and makes the tow worthwile!!!!

No the stones are still there. I think we need to just bear with them as they do their best to make the right changes, whether it be in program, policy, or management. They are FOR SURE moving in the right direction with the new track manager. I think great things are to come. The stones aren't "that" bad...and we have a rented space right in the worst of them right by the upper bathroom.
