Dana gear oil? - 04/01/10 11:54 AM

I have a Dana with 4.10s and was thinking of switchin to synthetic gear oil.
Is this OK to do?
What would you recommend for brand and weight?
Do I need to add limited slip additive?

The car is 90% street, and runs 11.60s.

thanx

i just switched and after draining it to have a look, it looks perfect.
i like the royal purple, if using a spool,no need for limited slip additive only for posi's.

i've only used synthetic- until i got a moser 60. they specifically advised against running synthetic. i have no idea why. i called them, and i don't remember their answer, which prolly means it wasn't very convincing?

I bought an S60 from Strange 2 years ago and it came with a warning not to use synthetic oil. I didn't get oil with it. Lucas oil sounds good. What additive? Limited slip?
