Will 4.375 crank clear oil pick up on MP Mega block? - 03/19/10 01:01 PM

I am considering purchasing a MP 440 Mega block, and I am curious if I can run an internal pick up with my 4.375 crank?

On the stock block, I had to plug the pick up and run and external line. I am hoping the MP block has the appropriate clearance.

I cant say for sure on the older MP blocks, but the New World blocks will clear a 4.5 stroke using 2.2 rods, and a little trimming.

Bummer. I was about to get a 4.375 for my '77 440 block. Was that with the stock Mopar Journal or a 2.2 Chevy Journal?

Yes,you might still have a little grinding to do.Here is a mega block and 4.5 stroke Bryant crank.
