I like to see the axles splines fit past the inside edge of the spool splines. there are some spools that are splined all the way thru so that won't work on them, the ones that I have measured that are not full lenght splines have 1.5 to 2 inches of splines on each side with about a two inch space between them on the inside. I hope that makes sense I have several Strange and Yukon 35 spline spools for a 8 3/4 that I could measure in the morning to make sure, if needed. let me know if needed

that would help if you could and better if ya took pic too that way it might say me taking out the 3rd member ifit dont look right i was also thinking that i could measure the stock ones to see how close they are to the other ones as im not sure of the measurement of the strange axels i was told they were cut 1 " shorter but they might be close

Stock 8 3/4" axle end gap is 1.5".

Most spools have a 1.25" gap in the center of the splines.

Min Spline engagement is .750". Length of available spline is dependant on axle manufaxturer.
