Drag Week 2010 - 03/17/10 12:11 AM

Is anyone planning on going? I have done Pump Gas Drags (3 times), Power Tour but never Drag Week. I'm hoping to do it this year in the 408 Valiant.

Most likely I will be going again with my buddy in his
52 ford pick up... we were there last year... we had
a riot. I wont have my 38 plmouth done so I'll be
with him again.... we just pulled his engine out
yesterday to go through it and put in a new cam

Great fun in 06, haven't made it back since, but this is the year, I promise!!
Don't want to miss the race to the Sixes!!

Wayne,
In 06 we brought race gas with us...get to the track, drain the swill, put in the good stuff, bump the timing.
Once you know the tracks, a gameplan can be put into place..and have as many moparts members local to that area on your cell as possible!!

The '10 event will take place September 13-18, starting and ending at National Trail Raceway and visiting O'Reilly Raceway Park in Clermont, Indiana (the historic site of the NHRA Nationals); Milan Dragway in Milan, Michigan; and Pittsburgh Raceway Park in New Alexandria, Pennsylvania. Race gas will be available at each track.

It seems like by reading the rules you can run slicks at the track and change tires to drive it? Is that true? I run a big tire on the street and I could switch to 33x10.5 to run at the track to fit in the Mod class. Am I wrong?

If you are running a slick in the Mod class it has to fit in HotRod's 11.25 Go-no go guage...other wise you would get bumped to pro street.

Billy, My old man lives about 30 min from PA.track so I might make plans to attend this year . Instead of Carlisle event. Free room and board.Plus he is building a 69 Bee 440 6-pac,& 68 Valiant 410 stroker . His first new car found some 42 years later. Brought me home from hospital in it!
