I have a friend that works at a powder coating place, I was wondering if i did coat it would it hold heat in? anyone have experience with this?

I had my W-5 M1 clear coated... I didnt see any issues
with it but it did yellow some with fuel(spilling
fuel during jet changes)

Mine was powdercoated and had no issues. Makes it look much better and makes it easier to clean.

I had a TM7 intake powder coated black, it seal the heat in that intake completely, it ran real hot after the first run

we built a 360 for a buddy and we powder coated the Intake,Valve covers,Timing chain cover and oil pan and it runs 180 all day long on street cruises

Looks like most had no problems with the powder coating, whats a fair price? He said $25.00 Thats seems fair.

my manifold is ceramic coated. no oil or fuel stains after 6 years so i'm happy. don't do the inside plenum or runners. my flow bench man had to remove my internal coating to get things ruff enough to help fuel atomisation.

I was going to polish mine but decided against it when I found out how long it was going to take me. I now just remove it every year and run it through the glass bead box to clean it up 
But I do like the look of the ceramic coating

If you look its only polished on the tops of the
runners(shiney part) the rest is sand blasted and the
whole thing cleared.... in the second pic you can
see the line where the shine ends on the runner
(I'm lazy so I didnt polish the whole thing)
