Wild Bill Collett - 03/01/10 11:09 PM

I am wondering where Bill Collett and his '68 Hemi Barracuda are these days. I used to race with him at Fairmont, W.Va. His was silver and an original I am thinking. Anybody know him or any update on his racing? It has been several years since I have seen him. Kinda' forgot about him, but the SS/HA stuff reminded me awhile back. I think he might have been from Pa. Anyone??

Chapper, he has some friends on here.
How about some info kicjjade? I think the car was involved in an accident several years ago but is back together now.

Bill and crew are doing well. He did wreck the car in Norwalk a few years back pretty badly and banged him up pretty bad, too. They got a donor car and completely rebuilt the Hillbilly car. They sent it to us to finish a few Super Stock odds and ends. When I talked to Bill last month it was either getting ready to get painted or was getting painted at home. They are planning on running it as a GT car with a 440 and the Hemi scoop at first until they get the Hemi back together. He is by far one of the nicest men I have ever met, same with his great crew of Weaver and Boggie! Its nice to know people ask about him.
