Link bar goes on the cylinder side of the valley.
The v in the bar would point towards the carb if it was there.

When you drop them in you see why the V points towards the carb. It is there to clear part of the block where a straight T-bar won't work.

I know on my 360 block i had to do some minor grinding with a die grinder to get those lifters into the lifter bores. the lifters adjacent to the #8 cylinder took the most work, but it wasn't anything i'd worry about or wouldn't do again.-Andy

I had to grind the block to get my comp 828's to fit. I think that is standard practice unless you get the MEGA bucks new reverse bar lifters. I will always wonder why turning the bar around adds $200 to the price of a set of lifters.....Looks like Herbert has some business coming his way.
