Finally got some color

Finally got some color - 02/05/10 02:23 AM

And I went with a little different shade this time. Still blue though

Not much else to speak of other then we mocked it up to measure the piston to valve clearence to see how much we could mill off the heads.

Looks like we can take enough off to get the chamber down to araound 72cc's and get the compression up to 11 to 1.

Should be a serious step up from 8.6 to 1

Re: Finally got some color - 02/05/10 02:54 AM

Hey Bill,
Gotta hood clearance question for you...
With your bulge hood what heads & intake were you previously running this past year?
If you didnt have the hood scoop would it still clear with just the buldge hood?

Now with your new head/intake combo will you still have the clearance or will you have to change or modify your hood or hood scoop?

thanks,
Doug

Re: Finally got some color - 02/05/10 03:01 AM

We'll be using the same Eddy heads and Team G intake that I was using in the past and they fit nicley under the hood. I think I have about 2"s till I reach the bottom of the buldge.

Bill with that hood scoop have you considered an M1 tunnel ram and a couple 750's? I think I've asked you this before but can't remember. That's why I put a ram on the dartsport, to utilize that scoop, it picked up around a tenth and a half.

His name is Dale Boyer. If you're ever at Norwalk paired up with a blue late 80's TBird, make sure you have your A+ game on!

It looks like Dale's about to say WHAT THE **** are you serious? I hope that's just primer

I still say your car needs a BIG WHITE #43 on the door or at least the engine block

All the razzing will fade when everyone gets an eye full of color from my gaskets then they can make fun of me

They should look pretty with that blue

You do know Bill there is a thing called SPRAY PAINT,
its much faster.... LOL. So where did the pistons

you could run new pistons with a better compression

So you guys didnt bore the block... how much did you
shave the heads

Re: Finally got some color - 02/06/10 04:06 AM

Sorry, Raff. Yes, we did bore the block .030 over. We also took .033 off one deck and .031 off the other.

As of yet we haven't taken anything off the heads but it is in the plan. I think he was saying we could take about .070 off and still clear the pistons with the valves.
