727 pukeing out the dipstick tube ???? - 01/30/10 04:49 AM

After about 3 to 4 passes using the tranny brake I will get fluid to come out the dipstick

the fluid level hot is ok and not airated, I dont have a tranny temp guage so I dont know how hot its getting, I let the car cool a little after a pass, I dont hot lap it.

In 2008 I never had a problem I was useing a B&M super holeshot 3500 converter running 10.35 @ 130 then I blew the stator in it and sent it to precision converter in Iowa and installed one of thare converters, that didnt really help the car at all, then when I got my old B&M back from precision in 2009 It helped allot it got my car in the 9s but after a few passes fluid comes out the tube, so I installed the old precision converter and the same thing happens!!!!

Anny one hear have the same problem?

I start my burnout in second then as soon as the tires break i click into 3rd and burn till the tires grabs, then stage the car and put on the tranny brake and as soon as the top yellow lights I floor it and leav on the beginning of the third yellow.

Does your tranny have a vent for the transbrake?

What do you mean? do I have to install another vent?
The only vent that I know of is the stock one behind the converter

most put a vent at top of tail shaft 1/8th pipe vent .
Also you will need a locking dipstick for NHRA tracks this year .

Usually...with a transbrake, you relocate the vent.

Quote:

On 727s & 904s with Trans Brake or reverse pattern valve bodies, CRT recommends that you relocate the vent to the rear of the case. The stock vent is in the pump cover, fluid will leak out of the stock vent when using a trans brake. Drill the stock vent hole with a 11/23 drill bit, then tap the hole using a 1/8 pipe tap. Install 1/8 pipe plug. drill hole at the 11 O clock piston in the rear of case as shown in picture above and install new vent. Also block off the feed hole in the park gear, or you will have fluid spitting out the vent. See pic below

Thanks a ton guys!!!!!

I will for shure be installing a vent in the tail shaft and get a locking dipstick.

Then do I have to plug the factory vent or do I just leav it?

Plug it to stop the leaking
