Does a fire wall have to be made between the trunk and passenger compartment if I have my fuel cell mounted in the trunk? I have a back seat, by the way.

That is what I thought. I have some .060 steel I was able to grab from work but don't know if it is over kill. I don't want to add any unnecessary weight.

Thats over kill... the spec is something like .024
steel and .035 alum(dont quote me on this)

I'd like to know the required thickness as I'm going to remove my factory plywood fold down in my fastback.
I'd prefer the required aluminum thickness info if anybody has it available.

This is from a older book but I dont think its
changed.... .032 alum or .024 steel

It would be worth the money VS the .060 steel, that
would be a fair amount of weight difference

I actually made a mistake. I have .030 steel. I was offered a sheet of .060 and .030. Obviously I took the .030 because the .060 sheet is still here at work. Brain fart.
I guess I will use the steel I have. It was free.I'll take some pics so you guys can critique my work.

The rule book also states Fuel tanks, pumps, lines, valves etc. must be outside of the Drivers compartment.
So if you have any fuel related components in the trunk you must have the firewall and everything must be sealed. Speaker holes etc.

Big, you've got it made. Just be glad you're not running a station wagon. 
I spent big bucks for a dirt track cell in a steel container, check valves, breakaway fittings etc. Trying to explain the container IS the bulkhead is,well,ya just can't buy that kind of entertainment
