Hoe to eliminate the 440-1 valley plate - 01/21/10 02:42 AM

I'm tired of poor sealing of the valley plate, and the oil leak that goes with it. I'm thinking of making a gasket/valley plate of .050 aluminum similar to astock steel gasket. Anyone elsr done this? How does it hold up, and any tips or pictures!

What plate are you using? I use this heavy billet plate and have never had an oil leak.

SC,
This may not be your problem but check the pan to see if there is a hairline crack in one of the re-inforcement beads. Happened to me one time, had the manifold off 3 times before I realized it wasn't a sealing problem.
