I'd hold off on anything that didn't match up. 3870810 casting
spanned several years and are pretty east to find. There were
a few different versions of the same casting. Pictures would
help a lot.

Those look like the 810 heads, they are the early heads as noted (usually casting dates will be between 1976-1978, the majority were 1977) they are identifiable by the freeze plugs in the ends, they had allot of casting variability and it was common that they cracked, usually because of port work in an area where there was unpredicted core shift (AMHIK).
The later heads that have "W2" cast into the sides under where the spark plug holes, and no freeze plugs in the ends, they are/were cast better. Same basic heads, (respective to Race or Econo) just a better/later casting.
As noted the heads in the auction look EXTENSIVELY ported, those are probably some of the earliest heads made if Petty had them, and likey better than average concerning core shift issues,I'd still be leary about cracks, thins spots, or epoxy filled holes with that set.

That's what I would call a "1st Generation" W-2. 77-early 80's.
Freeze plugs are dead give-away. They're around. Keep looking.
I have ONE for R&D.

Research and Development.......you know. Grind holes in, etc.
Here's a post where we discussed those E-bay W-2s briefly. Not the same as your's.

I dont know if they would work on my motor. my heads have the long valves and I think they should have the short ones I had smith bros. make push rods to fit these valves & if these e-bay heads have short valves they wont work Im going to sell this car so I dont want to get in to deep....

If your heads have offset rocker shafts and stands, they should have 5.280"-5.300" valves.
Post some pictures of your car and tell us about it.
Street? Strip? What's it run?

The lowers my 76 crane/petty heads...I do not know how they machined them with no cut throughs.
Std 76 810 castings...
They are numbered/matched.
The upper is a hand ported (not by me 97 set).
I know the numbers for both, I know the early ones are not considered the best, but I got to try them any way.
OP check you pm box.
