A body 2" headers, low deck block,stock exhaust port - 01/11/10 03:51 AM

We are in need of an Abody 2" primary tube dia header(rather not run a fender well header)that works with a low deck block and factory exhaust port location. Anyone have any real world feedback on the choices other than a custom built set? Thanks for any help.

I have a 1969 Dart GTS 383 car with Pro Parts older design, they don't fit worth a hoot on the 383 Pro Parts designed them for the RB motors, not the low deck B motors I have bought a set of the Mad Dog low deck headers but I have not put them on yet so I took a set of the Hooker fenderwell headers off that fit real well

I use the Pro Parts tubes, same set with 383 and 440.Yes,1 tube on the right side and 2 on the left go thru the fenderwell, but not anything like the Hookers do.My set fits great with the 383 as well as the 440.The 440 gets more room around the starter, but that's about it.

These are CPPA 2" chassis headers on the 400 in my boys Dart. TTI took over the design and make the same header from what I hear. These were bought in 1997. Ron

TTI 2 in fit a low deck block and factory exhaust port location?

There site seems to show

Big Block 2" Headers

"383/400 B-engines

fits with the following

Cylinder Heads
Must use these heads to run 2" Headers on Low-deck block.

Indy 440SR, Indy 440-1 (Raised-port) cylinder heads

*Edelbrock Victor or Stage 6"

I agree!I have the 2" TTI. headers and you have to use a head with raised exhaust ports.I used the indy sr 's and they fit perfectly.

Mad Dog's site lists the same header for stock and Edelbrock heads. I tried a set on a 383 with Edelbrock heads and NO GO. I sent them back, had them mod'd a bit, and then ran into more fitment problems once I got further in the install. I ended up using Schumachers, and on a 440 (long story).

Anyways for anyone else planning to run them on Edelbrocks, who may come across this thread, I would make darn sure they updated the design since the first few sets that came out 2-3 years ago.

I was looking for someone that had run the TTI's on a low deck, stock exhaust location head and if the fitment issues were not easy to overcome. Thanks for the feedback.

I got a '70 Dart with a /6 K-member and Schumacher /6 to bigblock conversion engine mounts.
Got a low deck with Eddy heads (stock exhaust location) in it, power steering and a 727 tranny.

My TTI 2" fit very good, only had to put a small dent in one pipe for the power steering box, for the rest no problems.

First i had a 4-speed in it and that was also no problem.
