my neighbors son N. Speers is moving up the ranks pretty quickly in roundy round racing...
he was out getting his ARCA liscense last weekend and Danicka patrick was there also..
getting her papers.
she is supposed to be out at Daytona this yr.

Sponsor has nothing to do with her getting in the field.
Wait to see how she rates in ARCA and Nationwide, she seems to hold her own in open wheel, she may do the same on a stocker.

Her driving ability, and her ability to generate interest for the owners, are 2 quite different things.
The reason she could do anything at all in Indy is very simple: she weighs 100 lbs. In a small car, that's a big deal (there aren't any male drivers even as small as 125 lbs. that I know of).
In a bigger car her advantage fades quite a bit, and her well-known tendency to complain, make mistakes and excuses, and demand special treatment will be less... tolerable. If she's smart she'll take the long contract for less money because when they find out that the public's interest fades after a few dozen hissy-fits and lots of DNF they're bought an expensive loser.
Don't you think there's someone out there pimping a younger, prettier girl, with bigger t*ts?
But, when has "feminism" been about anything more than transferring privilege from 1 sex to the other?
Equality as a demand used to mean "that's not fair - and it should stop".
Then it meant "that's not fair - and we want it too"
Now it means "that's not fair - and only women should get it".
Just my opinion: Nascar fans have the lowest degree of technical knowledge of any fan group I can think of.
Nascar "stores" do not sell any parts for any cars, let alone the cars that race.
Nascar has not had a car entered that was even remotely similar to something you can actually buy for 30 years.
Remember the famous comment "Whur kin Ah git me one-a-thim Ford Taurus 2 doors, with the V8 motor and rear-wheel drive"?

It has everything to do with her getting a ride in ARCA. You think if she didn't have the "Go Daddy" sponsor coming with her Jr. Motorsports would have hired her?

Sure Tony Stewart is a successful Open Wheel driver in NASCAR, but he grew up racing on the dirt. I say Danica is too old to simply hop in a 3400 lb car and be a force in a 43 car field.

She will have her work cut out for her, but I am cheering for her.
I think the smart thing will be to run the ARCA race at Daytona, not the Nationwide race. Then run the next Nationwide race as her debut.
IMO, she will have to work on her temper to be accepted in NASCAR. And to avoid too many wrecks.

Schumacher has never raced in NASCAR...But Nigel Mansell and Villeneuve did. They failed.
Montoya has done OK...
Danica will bring a few fans to the ARCA series, then a few more to the Nationwide series, she'll probably quailify because she'll be in good equipment, she'll get lapped, crash out, get frustrated....And go away.
She's not that good a driver.

You are correct about her getting into the field, but having "Go Daddy" a sponsor helped her find a ride with Jr Motorsports.
It's a high dollar sport, money is hard to come buy and I have a feeling they will be building her a few cars....
I'm not hoping she does poorly, I just wish she would have landed the ride because of her ability, and not because she's so damn hot.....LOL

Although she may have come with a sponsor, she didn't need one to get hired at Jr Motorsports. An attactive female racer that's has had huge media coverage in the past, sponsors would have been tripping over each other to set her up with a NASCAR ride.
My question is, did she want to move to NASCAR on her own, or did NASCAR do anything help persuade her to come over and help boost the sagging tickets sales.

She was trying to get a NASCAR ride last summer and didn't get it. She re-upped her IRL deal and NASCAR was supposedly off the radar for her.

From what ive read last year she had no interest in nascar evan after Dale jr approached her with the oppurtunity and she wasnt interested but after a couple of months of communicating with her i heard they talked her into doing some laps and thats how it began, Who doesnt [Edited by Moparts - Family Friendly Site - Keep it clean] and moan in nascar if you ever listened the the track pass deal where you can hear the team and driver during the race theres plenty of it, it seems that there are several indy car drivers making the switch to stock cars and are doing pretty well. i think it will take her a few years but shell do good.im sure any sponser will jump on her team with her on the front cover.

I am not at all demeaning her abilities or her deserving of this opportunity. More power to her, she must have something on the ball or her attractiveness wouldn't matter.
My deal with the whole NASCAR thing is that it is now more marketing than anyone else. Of course, drag racing is playing the same game, i.e. Gary Densham lost his sponsorship due to his age and the fact he was not a PR guys' dream. Because that is now the nature of NASCAR, she will fit right in with the rest of them.
I am not a NASCAR fan, and the above mentioned fact is one of the main reasons why. NHRA is not far behind. However, I do realize that you can't fight city hall, that is the way the game is played nowadays.
I just don't have to like it.

There were more women at the Daytona ARCA test than I can ever remember. Can't name them all, but Milk and Donuts was there along with the really scary looking in makeup Cope twins. They are nieces of Derrike Cope. Something about all that makeup in a firesuit kind of creeps me out.

I guess she realized there were some tracks she hadn't wrecked at so she is going after the challenge. I suspect she won't be around long as she did a fair share of wadding up the open wheel cars and "...If you ain't rubbin', you ain't racin'..." NASCAR boys will give her fits. Wonder if there will be a 'contest' to see who can spin her out or put her into the wall first?
I'll be interested to see how long the side show goes on or if she has the skills to become a Chase qualifier.

All professional Motorsports are entertainment pure and simple, if it means more people going to watch in person and TV so be it... I dont watch Nascar on a regular basis and I dont really like it, but if given the chance it would be awsome to compete at that level on someone elses dime, it will be entertaining just to watch what happens with Dale Jr's new team, If not anything else she is easy on the eye's.

they have you fooled. It is about exposure and marketing not her being afraid. There will be 30 Nextel drivers in the Daytona nationwide race. Her finishing near the back is not the exposure they are looking for. The next nationwide race she will be the main topic for the whole race. Hmm how many sponsor views will that be? more than the winner by 10 fold!

Driving beside Danica couldn't be any worse than being next to a Buckshot or anyone named Sauter or anyone named Bodine or anyone that has won a truck championship or leading a race with someone with the nickname Ironhead behind you.
Besides, maybe Junior can teach her how to spin out, bring out caution and never have to go a lap down.
