I Havent Been Around Lately - 11/19/09 12:48 AM

As most of you know I'm a hunter(wife also) so I've
been at our up north place hunting, bow and gun...
so I havent been on here much.... I have to go into
town for the wifi to get on.... sure hope you guys
have been behaving

... seeing a few but havent
taken any shots(waiting for a nice one)... Hope all
the racing is going good and everyone is being safe

Good luck!....I went hunting for a week in the high desert (11,000 feet elevation) on the California/Nevada border...I saw a lot of deer and almost had a shot at a buck...I took my 13 year old daughter for her first time and we had a great time.

Out here we have to hike a lot of miles to see deer...we hiked 5 miles+ a day (at 10K+ feet elev.)...my daughter was a trooper.

Have a great hunt Mike and bring home a nice rack (deer that is)

I'm gonna miss the season this year but here's a few pics of our sanctuary up in Looneyville, West by God Virginia....four of us pooled together 180 acres and now we have our own little mountain to hunt

As my son relyed, it's a BFR chambered in 45/70. BFR stands for 'Biggest Finest Revolver' Magnum Research here in Minnesota makes them, they're the same people that build the 'Desert Eagle' handgun.
I currently load and shoot a .460dia., 372 grain gaschecked slug. And it's like shooting a heavy .44 mag with these loads.(recoilwise) In the picture is a.22 rimfire, a .41 mag, 372 grn slug, and a loaded 45/70 round. Dave

Our gun seasons starts tomorrow. Leaving here in a few hours to get to the farm.

Wife has an ultrasound this morning, then pack everything. Drop the dogs off and Im out the door. Hope wife is feeling good enough to go, she is on the fence yet.

My buddy in WI bagged a deer 3 days ago... On the drive home after not seeing anything... he nailed one 3 miles from home... with the Honda...lol.

Meat in freezer... I think it ends up being something like $60/lbs...lol $3K in damage...

Well we're back home for a couple of days(turkey day)
and then we head back up for a few more weeks...
been slow on the hunting, could have gotten a doe
but the wife already took 2 of them(1 with bow and
1 with gun)... I'd like to get a nice buck to fill
the freezer but if I dont see any I'll take a doe
to top off the freeze. Are you guys behaving

We have a 2 acre horse pasture 1000 ft from my back door, during hunting season the dogs chase the deer into my pasture where they chomp up whats left of the summer grass, last Sunday my son and I were trying to bag one by driving golf balls at around 100 yards, well we suck @ hunting or maybe golf and got a pizza instead of deer, even left the crusts for the deer, next Sunday we will move in a little closer and try again
