High compression pistons for stock stroke 440???? - 11/10/09 03:27 AM

I'm preparing to build a new bracket motor and trying to find high compression pistons for a standard stroke, .030 over bore, stock block, iron heads w/ lite port work and large valves and MP .590 solid lift cam. Anyone know who offers a piston in the 12.5-13.0 range with 452 cast iron heads? I can find this with stroker kits and/or closed chamber heads. It seems the norm now days is flat tops and spray? Call me old school (I am), but doesn't anyone still do it the old fashioned way? Thanks for any help guys.

My old 446" wedge has a set of Ross domes in it. It originally had a set of shaved and ported 915 heads on it, now has Indy SRs on it w/ around 14.5:1 compression. CHIP

Not a chance! Not only am I "old school", I am old AND hard headed!!!
With this car having only SS leaf springs, torsion bars and 11.5" sticky mickeys, I need to stay a bit on the conservative side. We run mostly 1/8 mile tracks, 6.80s @ 99-100 mph and the car is usally deadly consistant. I'm concerned that if I add much HP/torque, I'll just out run the suspension. Like most other racers, I would love to go faster , just not in this car.
Thanks,
