Who makes the lightest pistons available in standard over bore sizes (.030-.060) for a 4.5 stroke raised deck block? 1.320 CH.

Also looking to use 7.1 aluminum rods with small block C***y journals in this mill. Anyone have any clearance issues with alu. rods in stock/standard BB blocks with 4.5 stroke? Thinking R&R, BME, or GRP.

Engine will be driven on the street ocassionally.

Why use aluminum? If you were running comp, OK. Anything else, the steel rods are too good to pass.

Im not 100% sure but, what I have noticed is its much easier to get the dimensions I want in aluminum rods.

Anyone know of any rod manufacturers that offer a LITE steel 7.1 small block chevy rod?

I'd get some custom CP's made in a 1.355 CH. 1.320 is going to put you .050 or so in the hole. 440 source has .030 over dished pistons for that combo in 1.355, all the others are 1.320.

Why try to re-engineer the wheel? Get a 4.5 crank with big chevy rod journals and you can use any 7.100 chevy rod out there. There's clearance issues with a steel rod at 4.375" and a big chevy pin. I was barely able to make the internal 1/2" pickup clear. Aluminum rods? Not gonna fit. External pickup? It'd probably fit then.
