ISLAND DRAGWAY YESTERDAY - 10/12/09 02:35 PM

Went to island dragway yesterday and it was
a long day.. 45min to get teched went
to the lanes around 12:30 first and last
run 3:10.. That place can't handle the amount
of cars that showed up.. They are a little
disorganized.. I wanted at least two runs..

Just a little rant.

First thing that comes to mind---what was the car count? out here Speedworld usually takes 6-8 hrs to run 100 cars or so---THAT'S slow! If they ever got the number of cars that some Eastcoast tracks have they'd stroke out.........

Exactly... how many cars were there? how many oil downs? I`ve been racing at Island for over 20 years and yes Sundays are crowded and busy. Tech takes long because unlike some other tracks they actually look at the cars and check them. How many people come to tech unprepared and with cars that are questionable? This could be remedied quickly if people read the NHRA rulebook and checked their car beforehand. Every Test and Ruin I`ve attended there has been a least one or two oildowns resulting in big delays.

You are correct.. To many cars failing tech..
To many front wheel drive cars breaking axcels,
a couple of oil downs that they don't pull to
the side and stop.. The car count was very high
about 3 hundred..
