Help me to the 10s - 09/30/09 05:21 PM
Wondering what it would take to get my pig into the 10s.
Combo is a 3800lb 72 B-body, 448 10.5 to 1 comp, ported 452s, (no flow numbers but Id bet they are around 260@.600) M1 w/2 inch open spacer, 2 inch hookers, cam is a Comp solid TL288, 259/259 .550 lift, .585 with the 1.58 rockers Im using, 108CL, in at 101.5. 950HP, running on E85. Converter flashed right at 5k, maybe more like 4900. 4.30 gear with 275/60/15 ET radials.
So far my best ET/MPH is in my sig. I know its got more in it as it sits with more tuning. But, lets assume that my sig performance is as good as it gets.
IM using 3 inch into Eddy RPM mufflers into 2.5 tailpipes, no X or H pipe. Im thinking with the cam specs, lack of crossover, and the 2.5 tailpipes I might see .1 or more with the pipes open.
Ive got a comp 266,.646 roller that I could swap in, not sure if 266 will be OK with only 10.5 compression?? Ive also got a Meziere water pump to throw on also.
I converted the car to E85 over last winter. I dont have any 1/4 mile passes since converting, but I took it to an 1/8 mile track early this summer. FWIW, the numbers converted to a 11.34@ 118.25 My best 1/4 numbers were in 600DA air and the 1/8 mile passes were in 2600DA air, so I hope to pick up there also.
Any ideas?
